Umbrellas Keep Out Sunshine As Well As Rain

“Umbrellas Keep Out Sunshine As Well As Rain” is a series born from the relationship of isolation and intimacy. Shot over a two-year period in and around a small municipal parking facility in Western Pennsylvania, the series is an investigation into the negative space of our lives; space that is ever-present yet pushed aside by the wake of our active existence. As an artist, I am fascinated by this negative space and background noise, so I have a strong desire to capture it and bring it into my positive experience.

Images from “Umbrellas Keep Out Sunshine As Well As Rain” have been exhibited as part of group shows at both The Hoyt Center for the Arts, New Castle, PA, as well as Image Box Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA.

Matted and signed prints are available, please inquire for details.
