Modern humans are surrounded by noise – it envelops us in our daily lives. As an artist, I am interested in finding ways to visualize that noise and make it tangible. The photos displayed here form a series entitled, 「光 : Hikari」. Hikari means “light” in Japanese, and the series is based on the visualization of ambient light. With these photos, I’ve attempted to distill the essence of my visual world down to a basic plane of experience. Details are often distracting, so I thought I’d try and see my world without them for a change.
Images from 「光 : Hikari」have been exhibited as a solo show at The Hoyt Center for the Arts, New Castle, PA, as well as featured in the Winter 2012 issue of The Artist Catalogue and the Spring 2013 issue of Camera-9.
Matted and signed prints are available, please inquire for details.
