2010 Pittsburgh International Auto Show Pt. 1

Posting the first batch of photos from the Pittsburgh International Auto Show tonight. Spent about 4 hrs there total and produced just over 100 photos once the finals edits are done. The show itself was fairly decent, though there really weren’t any cars that stood out in my mind as exceptional; a few new models here and there, but only a couple concept cars worth mentioning, and the same for custom showcars too. Seems there were more exotics on display in years past, but this year almost nothing. In any case, I had a good time, and due to the weather and odd start date, the crowds were pretty thin, so it lent to easy picture taking. The full gallery is here, I’ll be adding to it with each post I make until all the photos are up. They’re even for sale for personal use this time if you find some you like and want a souvenir from the show.

These are the highlights form the first batch:

First up is a cut-away car of the new and soon-to-be-released Honda CR-Z hybrid. First time to see one in person, but a shame that it was only this cut-away. Also, oddly enough, this was tucked way out of the way in a corner of the entrance gallery on the second floor, and nowhere near the Honda booth itself.

Next up was this somewhat unusual custom Lexus IS 350C built by Clark Ishihara and David Rahemi for VIP Auto Salon and JTuned.com. The paint is completely flat with no shine whatsoever, which is great for photos, but I think I like my cars with some sparkle. Still, very well executed and unique compared to any of the other showcars present.

Lastly, just one detail shot of a wheel from a 50′s Triumph TR2 on display for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. I liked the way the light worked with the chrome, so here it is:

More to come shortly, so keep checking back!
