Just a quick note welcoming you to the inaugural post for my personal photography blog. In case you’re wondering, ‘Irashaimase!’ means ‘Welcome!’ in Japanese and is usually used in commercial settings like restaurants, stores and the like (like a blog!). As you’ll see soon enough, my second language is Japanese, which I learned over the last 10 or so years. Since my wife is from Japan, outside of work or family engagements, it’s my main language and it often spills over into my English usage pretty regularly. It’s a big part of me, and if you stay and read my blog long enough, you’re going to learn some as well. Does this have anything to do with photography, you ask? Hell no, but it’s good to know who you’re working with and where they’re coming from I always say.
So what about the photography then? Good question. The main goal of this blog is to simply share my photography with whomever wants to know about it. Sure, it’s tied into the official HP that I operate out of, but the blog is not official per se — you have as much of a chance to see family snaps here as you do my latest paid work. While the focus on my HP is automotive shots and restoration work, here I’ll post anything I shoot regardless of subject, if only to have an outlet for the other aspects of my photography and for you to get to know me better. I also have a Flickr site as well for the same purpose, and the pics you see on my side bar will update from time to time as I add new content to it. For your part, all I ask is for you to sit back, watch the show, and let’s get to be friends.
Thanks for coming!
